These Frozen Strawberry Banana Dog Treats are easy homemade dog treats perfect for the summer!
Frozen Dog Treats
I love making simple and easy DIY homemade dog treats for my puppy! And these frozen dog treats for summer are a great warm weather snack!
And with simple and fresh ingredients, humans can eat these as well! My nephew loves to find them in the freezer every time he comes over.
While these treats can be considered healthy, please note I am not a vet or any other trained professional. Please contact your vet for more information about what is safe and appropriate for your pet. Find more of our dog treat recipes here!
Ingredients
Here is what you need to make these treats:
- Strawberries
- Banana
- Plain Greek Yogurt
- Honey
- Water
The strawberries and banana can be either fresh or already frozen.
Bone and Paw Silicone Mold
This is the dog silicone mold that I used for these Frozen Strawberry Dog Treats. It comes with one paw shaped and one bone shaped mold.
I can fill both molds twice with this recipe for a large number of treats!
You could also use any ice cube or silicone mold that you have. And since the banana dog treats are made of quality ingredients, you can feel good giving them to your puppy.
These Frozen Strawberry Banana Dog Treats melt decently fast, but the dogs tend to eat them even faster! I love making DIY dog treats because they are SO easy and the dogs love them so much! And using healthier ingredients that are low on calories means I don’t worry as much about my puppy being overfed 🙂
How to Make Homemade Frozen Dog Treats
It is so simple and fast to make these!
Put your molds on a baking sheet or something hard that is easy to move.
Blend all of the ingredients together, and fill each mold section. You can also use ice cube trays if desired!
Freeze them until hard and store the treats in a sealable bag in the freezer. That is it!
How Long to Frozen Dog Treats Last in the Freezer?
You can keep these treats in the freezer for two months, if they last that long!
My parents have two Golden Retrievers who are obsessed with ice and frozen green beans. So I have been testing out my frozen treats with them and this one has gotten one of the best reactions!
They seemed to really enjoy the fresh flavors in frozen form and acted more excited than normal about eating them! I hope your dogs love them just as much!

Easy, healthy, my schnauzers love them!
That is so great!
My dogs go crazy for these!
Do you have a dairy free option? My dog is allergic to milk products 🙁
Hi Jodie,
I would try maybe using some coconut milk instead. It will be a much thinner texture before freezing, but will firm up and help hold it all together with less crystallization than just freezing the fruit alone. I hope your puppy loves them!
Mine came out perfect! Pups love ‘em!
How many a day can I give my 70 lb beabull?
Hi Natalie,
I am not aware of any daily restrictions for these ingredients (other ingredients like coconut oil etc there are daily recommendations). I would suggest checking with your vet!
How long are these good for in the freezer, I’m not sure if I missed that.
Hi Melissa,
I have kept them in a baggie for two months and they were still great!
Where do you get the moles
Hi Mae,
The links are throughout the post. You can find the molds on Amazon at this link: https://amzn.to/2TM8nkB
I love the idea of this recipe and the way they came out, however mine seemed to come out of the silicone molds very sticky? I used the exact ingredients as said above with small paw and bone molds. Any idea why they would have come out sticky? Thank you!
Hi Alexis,
That is so weird! I have not had it happen but it could be that they needed to freeze longer? Or maybe use less honey if the treats themselves were sticky. If they were sticking to the molds, you could try spraying the molds before filling. I hope it works out!
Wow, this recipe is soo fun, my dog will love it for sure. It’s going to be fav of him.
We also have a golden retriever and she loved these treats! It has been very hot in Nebraska lately, so these were a great refreshing treat for her!
Yes, SO hot! And so happy your pup loves them as well!
Haven’t tried these yet but I’m sure my furry buddies will love them. Just for clarification, these are NOT vegan because of the yogurt & honey. They are however, vegetarian.
i love this!! too cute!!
This looks so tasty even for me! I’m going to give these a try!
This is such a great idea for those who live in very hot locations!
My Husky and Mastiff Love it ❤️.
Just made these for my Cavalier and she loved it. Super easy and even taste good!
Would definitely recommend this for your fur babies…..
Thank you, Tammy! I am so glad your baby loved them!
This is great. My dog sure is pampered! I hired a pooper scooper and now I’m making popsicles for him. Him and I both love it
How wonderful!
Will these turn out without the honey? Have you made them without before?
Yes you can make without the honey! They are a touch less sweet but that should not be a problem for the pups. They will still freeze well.
