Cut the brie wheel approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the way down all the way across. Remove the top.
Spread the jam across the cut brie side and place the top back on with the rind facing up.
Roll the puff pastry out slightly on a lightly floured surface. Cut the puff pastry into strips approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide.
Place the puff pastry strips across the brie to make the mummy bandages.
Cut the olive in half and place on the brie as the eyes.
Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush on the puff pastry pieces.
Bake the wheel at 400℉ for approximately 15 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
Serve immediately with crackers.
Notes
It is best to make this brie wheel in a baking dish as close to the size of the wheel as possible. This way as the melting cheese leaks out during baking, it stays close to the wheel. If desired you can cut the remaining puff pastry into chip-like pieces, bake them, and serve them with the brie.
