Depending on how you are serving the sauce will depend on how thick you want it. This recipe is similar to a caramel or honey consistency. If you are serving it warm, it will be thinner when it touches the heat. If serving cold such as with ice cream, it will stay thick.Make the sauce thinner if needed by adding more heavy cream or even some water.Make the sauce thicker by cooking longer.
