So there are a lot of Chipotle guacamole copycat recipes out there because the ingredients are so simple, that it is easy to try and replicate. But this recipe was posted by Chipotle themselves, which I was skeptical of at first. Many popular restaurants say they post their recipes but in reality they are leaving a key ingredient out, or something, that makes it just not quite the same. But I ran this by someone that used to work there and they said it was just as they remembered it!
Probably one of the most important parts if you are trying to make it as truly authentic to the original as possible is whipping it. I like my guacamole to be a little chunky, but Chipotle’s is rather smooth and creamy. Just keep mixing to get the creamier consistency if that is what you want! I love my little avocado bowl for guacamole, but serving it in a mocajete is also very festive and rather classic.
If you want a different variation of guacamole, you can try our custom guacamole recipe here which includes additional ingredients like tomato and garlic, but is still rather similar considering the recipes are so simple. Find more Copycat restaurant recipes here!
I love guacamole and the fact that it is vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and keto low carb makes it the perfect dip or condiment for a group and a great lighter and healthier option for so many foods! I love to add it on top of any Mexican recipe, but it is also great for soups, salads, and proteins where the flavors are complimentary.
If you want to make the Copycat Chipotle Guacamole in advance, make sure you press plastic wrap directly across the surface to minimize any browning from oxidation. While the browning is edible, it just doesn’t look very appetizing. You can also add the lime on top as a layer to help, but I still recommend the plastic wrap.
