To make this healthy yogurt dip, you will need the following ingredients:

Plain Greek Yogurt

Lemon – for both lemon juice and lemon zest

Fresh Basil – fresh will give you much better flavor than dried basil for this recipe

Garlic

Salt

To make the Healthy Lemon Basil Dipping Sauce, combine the plain Greek yogurt, lemon juice and zest, fresh basil, garlic, and salt in a small bowl.

Stir to combine and chill until ready to serve.  I like to chill at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together a little.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Zest the lemon and put the zest in a small bowl.
  • To the small bowl, add the plain Greek yogurt, garlic, fresh basil, lemon juice, and salt. Stir to combine. Season to taste with additional ingredients as desired.
  • Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.

Notes

Lemon zest makes for a stronger lemon flavor.  You can skip the zest, or use more lemon juice if desired.  Zest a lemon using a microplane!
This dip tastes best if it has the chance to chill for at least 30 minutes.  This allows the flavors to meld together.
